The new owner of the bodega where Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz was killed says he plans on opening the space as another bodega.
The new owner, Wagner Baez, says he will not be naming it after Junior, at his mother’s request.
News 12 spoke with Junior’s mother, who is pleased it’ll be named something else and is OK with it opening as bodega.
Baez owns another bodega in the Bronx and says he saw an opportunity.
He hopes that the community will give him a chance because he had nothing to do with the attack. He says he’s going to make his mind up on the opening date based on the community’s response.
