Business Briefs: Facebook, Walmart, Nutella

Posted: Updated:

Facebook wants to help single people update their relationship status. Tech Crunch reports that the social media giant is testing a match-making feature. 'Facebook Dating' will be incorporated into the current app, and will be targeted toward finding long-term relationships rather than just a fling. There will also be no swiping like other dating apps - instead, chats can take place in Facebook Messenger. The feature isn't live yet and is only being tested internally.

Walmart is getting automated. The company says they have started to test automated carts in an effort to speed up the process of picking online orders. The carts are able to move up, down and sideways more efficiently than humans doing the same job. Employees will still handpick some items, like produce and meat. According to Cheddar, right now they are only being tested at a store in New Hampshire.

The parent company of Nutella is on the hunt for 60 taste testers - no experience necessary. USA Today reports that those selected for the part-time positions will go through a three-month training in northwest Italy to hone their tastes and sense of smell. The company says they are looking for feedback from average customers.
