NYPD: Father of baby found in East River lives in the Bronx

The father of a 7-month-old boy found floating in the East River near the Brooklyn Bridge on Sunday is from the Bronx, according to police.
They say 37-year-old James Currie will be extradited to the United States from Thailand, where he allegedly fled after throwing the child into the water.
Authorities add that the baby, who has been identified as Mason Soldana, was alive on Saturday when Currie took him to his Co-op City apartment under a custody arrangement. The child was believed to be dead when Currie left the apartment and headed for Manhattan.
A tourist from Oklahoma found the body.
Currie faces charges that include concealing a human corpse, which is a felony. Additional charges could be filed after an autopsy is performed.
