Future crime scene investigators gathered in West Haven Friday to get some hands-on experience.
The University of New Haven's weeklong summer camp shows students how to investigate a crime scene. They inspected left-behind evidence, took measurements of the scene, drew out the incident, and then collected evidence for fingerprints.
The camp lets high school students explore a possible career path.
After documenting and solving the crime, students will present their findings to their parents.
This is the university's eighth year offering the camp. Another session will be held next week.
