Springs food pantry in desperate need of donations

A Long Island food pantry is pleading for donations so it can continue helping the community.
Springs Community Food Pantry is supplied by volunteers and nonprofit groups who give produce and other items for those in need.
The pantry says the summer months bring plenty of food to their shelves, but by the winter they struggle to have enough.
Springs Community Food Pantry's Holly Rheichart says many of those who need the food live in the shadows of their very wealthy neighbors. She calls them the "working poor" -- families that have both parents both working, but are still struggling to make ends meet.
A lot of pantry donations in the area go to the East Hampton pantry, while Springs is sometimes forgotten, leading to shortages of food.
Pantry organizers say they are trying to raise $65,000, which is what they need yearly to continue operating. Anyone interested in making a donation can visit their website.
