News 12 tours Steiner Studios film sets

Officials from the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment took News 12 Brooklyn on a tour Monday of some of the borough's most popular film and television sets.
The Steiner Studios visit was part of the City Hall in Your Borough initiative. News 12's Hannah Kliger checked out the sets of two shows filmed in Brooklyn: Fox's "Gotham" and CBS' upcoming drama "God Friended Me."
Kai Falkenberg, first deputy commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, says film and media production in New York City is booming, especially when it comes to show pilots, or first episodes.
Cast and crew members say that much of the clothing, props and set decorations are from local city businesses.
Robin Lord Taylor, who plays the villainous Penguin on "Gotham," says filming the show in Brooklyn has been convenient, especially when it comes to Steiner Studios' setup in the Navy Yard.
Falkenberg says there were twice as many pilots filmed this year in New York City than in Los Angeles.
