The advocacy group Transportation Alternatives and members of the L Train Coalition met up in Williamsburg Wednesday for the launch of the supercharged bike train.
Going across the Williamsburg Bridge's incline could be a challenge for some riders, so the pedal-assist option for Citi Bikes aims to make the journey a bit easier.
The pedal-assist option is part of the city's plan to ease the burden of the L train shutdown that begins next April.
Officials say they hope the group commuting across the bridge will grow during the repairs.
