Families in Crown Heights and Brownsville got a helping hand Friday from some familiar faces in the sports world.
Past and present basketball stars teamed up with local community groups and Brookdale Hospital to serve free meals for more than 700 people at Lincoln Terrace Park.
Dribble Out Hunger is aimed toward providing Brooklyn residents with a hot and healthy meal. Community members are also able to get a free haircut and have some good summer fun.
“Anytime we can put a smile on people’s face that's what we try to do,” said former NBA player Ricky Davis.

This event was all part of a community outreach ahead of Friday’s BIG 3 basketball game.
