Travelers are in for a long night of traffic as Labor Day comes to an end.
News 12 New Jersey’s Marci Rubin stopped at the Monmouth Rest Stop along the Garden State Parkway to get a firsthand look at traffic on the ride back to reality.
Traffic was at its heaviest northbound.
At one point this evening, there was a near 20-mile delay on the northbound Garden State in Ocean County.
Many travelers say they are not surprised by the traffic. Some say they decided to stay at their celebrations longer to beat the traffic. Others say they’re taking advantage of the rest stops.
Commuters may want to consider taking the scenic back roads instead of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic.
