The Brooklyn Museum hosted Pharrell Williams’ Yellow Ball fundraiser event on Monday evening.
May stars were in the building, including Missy Elliott, who performed at the event, along with Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, and Pusha T.
The ball was also hosted by American Express and benefits the Young Audiences Arts for Learning which supports music education in schools.
American Express Chief Marketing Officer Elizabeth Rutledge said, “This is all about giving back to the kids. Research has told us that when kids get to experience arts, whether that’s photography, whether that’s drawing, whether that’s sculpture, whether that’s writing poetry, that they’re gonna do better in school. They’re gonna be inspired to do better in school and to do better in their life. That’s what this is all about.”
American Express donated about $1 million to the organization.
