Members of the Urban Search and Rescue New York Task Force traveled to North Carolina Tuesday to prepare to offer assistance as Hurricane Florence makes landfall.
The members packed up trucks with supplies and tools, including rescue boats, equipment for collapsed structures and more.
The task force includes 83 specially trained members of the FDNY, NYPD and Emergency Management, as well as six search-and-rescue K-9s.
They'll be in a staging area in Kingston, North Carolina until the storm hits.
The task force has been deployed more than 20 times since the 1990s.
