Ribbon-cutting held for community solar farm in the Bronx
Efforts to make the Bronx more green are underway with the Million Solar Strong Campaign, a movement that pushes the state to have cleaner energy by using solar.
Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr., along with environmental and community organizations, are urging the state to support the mission to power 1 million households with solar by 2023.
The coalition held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday for a community solar farm on Commerce Avenue installed by OnForce Solar. Community Solar Farms is a new model that gives those in the city access to solar when they otherwise wouldn't be able to have solar.
The 3,000 panels installed in the Bronx is the largest community solar project in the borough.
