The basement of a synagogue in Midwood caught fire around 6 a.m. Sunday.
It took more than 60 firefighters two hours to contain the fire at Agudath Yisroel synagogue.
No injuries were reported.
A synagogue member tells News 12 Brooklyn that while none of the holy books and scrolls were damaged, there was some smoke damage to the synagogue and broken glass.
Fire officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
