Officials ride Bronx subway for 24 hours

Elected officials in the Bronx Wednesday are riding the subway for 24 hours for the second annual Riders Response Transit Tour.
The officials will get a first-hand look of the city’s most depended upon infrastructure and mass transit system.
Officials say they will listen to commuters and make note of needed improvements as well as ease of the use of the transit system.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared the MTA was under a state of emergency over a year ago prompting many changes in MTA leadership.
Despite changes, commuters tell News 12 the subway trains are constantly late or not running, and they are dirty.
Officials will visit 15 stations in the Bronx and 20 in Manhattan.
They say they will present their findings before the City Council’s Transpiration Committee during a hearing in October.
