Navy dad surprises son on his birthday at PS 115

There's nothing like a good birthday surprise, but a 7-year-old from Canarsie got a special gift at his school Wednesday.
Brian Adlam Jr. is a second-grader at P.S. 115. His dad is in the Navy and he hadn’t seen him in three months.
Brian Adlam Sr. surprised his son at school by driving up six hours from his command in Virginia to share his son's birthday with him,.
The birthday surprise actually almost did not happen - Adlam says he was supposed to be at sea, but his schedule changed.
Because of Adlam's assignments, he missed his son's last birthday and the holiday season.
"I wish I was able to spend every day with him, but sometimes we have to make certain sacrifices and we just have to cherish the moments that we actually have together," he says.
