Bike sharing has grown in popularity throughout the Bronx with the launch of two new programs to get residents pedaling.
The electric bike sharing program known as JUMP launched in and around Fordham on July 30, 2018. A JUMP spokesperson says residents have taken 11,000 rides so far.
On August 15, it was announced that a dockless Citi Bike program was launching in the borough.
Citi Bike spokesperson Julie Wood says 803 Bronx residents have used the bikes, biking more than 8,000 miles.
Fordham residents say they notice mostly kids and teenagers are taking advantage of JUMP bikes and Citi Bikes in the area.
