The MTA hosted a workshop Tuesday night to reassess and potentially redesign bus service around the Bronx.

The workshop, held at Riverbay Corporation in Co-op City, was the fourth of six meetings planned around the borough.

The MTA says it wants to take a holistic approach to addressing commuter issues and look at bus service from a fresh perspective.

Rod Saunders, the second vice president on Riverbay’s board of directors, said, “One of the major points we want to have is the restoration of the 26, 28, and the QBX one routes so that the buses make all of the 26 stops here in Co-op City that service the entire community.”

The MTA hopes that this method of looking at the current and future needs of their commuters could help build a bus network that provides faster, more reliable service.
