Hundreds of residents came together in Glen Cove Sunday to raise awareness and provide support to bullying victims.

The BullyProof Project organized the walk at Morgan Memorial Park.

“We're just trying to bring awareness, trying to be the change. All we want is for everyone to be kind to each other and respect one another, that's all we ask for,” says Carmelina DiGraci, of the BullyProof Project.

During the walk, there were signs and messages written on rocks to remind people to stop bullying others.

The Glen Cove Police Department was also getting the message out about bullying. It said that anti-bullying should be taught at home and re-enforced in the community.

“If we can help people who don't know and to teach them to be aware and how to react to situations involving bullying, that's half the battle,” says Sgt. Ryan Nardone, of the Glen Cove police.

The walk was organized during National Bullying Awareness Month.
