BROOKLYN -

Police say a Brownsville man was set up by his wife to be assaulted and robbed in a violent home invasion.

They say the 41-year-old man let his wife come by his apartment Saturday afternoon on Lavonia Avenue to gather her belongings.

According to police, he realized three men wearing black with bandanas were behind her. They say one of the men was armed.

The man told police they pushed their way inside and assaulted him, stealing money and fleeing the scene.

Officials say no arrests have been made in connection to the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
