Bronx students with special needs celebrated their achievements Monday as part of White Cane Day.
White Cane Day has been nationally observed since 1964 and is meant to celebrate the achievements of the visually impaired and blind, and to highlight the importance of their white canes.
Dozens of students marched around the New York Institute for Special Education to celebrate.
Student Angelique Hernandez says her cane means the world to her and makes her feel unstoppable.
"Even though you have a disability... you can enjoy your day and just show other people that, you know, you're capable of doing things," says Hernandez.
