Thousands of runners were taking part in the NYC Marathon Sunday, going through the 26.2-mile course throughout the five boroughs.
Mile eight runs through Lafayette Avenue and Flatbush Avenue in Fort Greene.
Mary Keitany, of Kenya, won the women's race for the fourth time, clocking in at 2 hours, 22 minutes and 48 seconds. Lelisa Desisa, of Ethiopia, won the men's race with a time of 2 hours, 5 minutes, 59 seconds.
While there are thousands of people running the NYC Marathon, there are just as many people who aren't running who say they love the sport and the excitement of the race.
The L Train Brass Band performed music for the runners and those who were watching the race.
Some say they also love coming to see the NYC Marathon because it inspires them to go for a run.
