A funeral was held Thursday for a Bridgeport hair stylist who was shot on Halloween.
Hundreds gathered at the Messiah Baptist Church on Congress Street to mourn the life of 41-year-old Myoshi Bagley.
Bagley was fatally shot on Halloween. Her friend David Belle, who was also shot, died in the hospital a week later as a result of the incident, police say.
The two were shot as they were looking at a new beauty salon Belle was opening in front of 848 Maplewood Ave. around 11:01 p.m.
Friends and family say Bagley was a loving person whose kindness made a lasting impression on everybody who knew her.
The health care worker was also working part-time as a hairdresser as a way to earn extra money so she could care for her kids and move her life forward, her family says.
"I'm still devastated, I still don't believe it," says Tanisha Pierce, Bagley's cousin. "Together as a family we'll get through this, with prayer."
Police say no arrests have been made but promised to bring closure to the family.
"We are going to solve this homicide, and like I always say, I cannot bring her back but I'm going to bring you justice," says Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bridgeport police at 203-581-5100.
