Police: 2 men stole tools from Morris Heights construction site

Police are searching for two men who they say stole thousands of dollars’ worth of construction equipment after workers left a site on Sept. 21.
Officials say the suspects snuck into a residential construction site on Davidson Avenue around 5:45 a.m. One worker tells News 12 The Bronx that the suspects must have hopped over a makeshift fence.
Officials say the men forced open a storage box and filled what seemed to be two suitcases worth of equipment once they got inside.
Another worker says the tools belonged to the plumbers on site and that they were all metal.
Police say the suspects, believed to be in their 40s, took $6,500 worth of construction tools.
They say the suspects fled the scene on foot after stealing the tools.
The on-site manager for plumbing says this isn't the first time this has happened to him.
Workers are asking for tighter after-hours security.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
