New bus route gets a thumbs down from Westover parents

A new bus route created for the Westover Elementary School's new location is receiving negative reviews from parents.
The Westover Elementary School is now being housed inside an office park because of a mold issue. While parents are giving the new building a thumbs up, they say the bus route gets a thumbs down.
Parents at the Connecticut Avenue stop say the route is crowded and chaotic. Police officers were on hand Wednesday to assist crossing guards.
The parents say their kids usually walk to school, and the new routine is stressful. Around 150 students who were used to walking to school now must take the bus.
"They ripped these kids from their school with less than 24 hours' notice to add this chaos to their life Monday to Friday; it's insane," says parent Melissa Beerwa.
Associate Superintendent Olympia Della Fora says the district is taking parents' suggestions, comments and concerns in order to find a solution to a big problem.
