A grand jury will decide if charges should be filed in the death of Evelyn Rodriguez.
As News 12 has reported, the Brentwood woman and anti-gang activist was hit and killed by an SUV in September.
The incident happened on the two-year anniversary of her daughter Kayla's murder, allegedly by MS-13 gang members.
An argument with a neighbor over a memorial display for Kayla led to her being run over.
News 12 is told the 50-year old's long-time partner will testify before a grand jury panel next week.
