BROWNSVILLE -

A reality star was in Brownsville Monday night to give out coats and turkeys to those in need.

Yandy Smith-Harris, from VH1's "Love and Hip Hop," was part of the giveaway at the Marcus Garvey Clubhouse that had people lining up hours before the event began.

The event was organized by the same group that was behind rapper Cardi B's coat giveaway about a month ago.

Smith-Harris recently fostered a child from Brownsville. She says helping out the community is now a personal matter.
