A community is repaying a bodega owner who protected a teen who was being attacked.
Droves of customers, led by the mother of Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz, flooded an Ogden Avenue bodega Monday night to thank Edward Lara.
Surveillence video showed a teen running into his store last month, followed by his attackers. When the boy was cornered, Lara stepped in, removed the mob of attackers from the store and prevented them from coming back in.
The incident reminded many of the tragic killing of Guzman-Feliz months earlier.
The group made purchases from Lara's store and showed appreciation to him.
