Hazy skies across the Bronx are linked to California wildfires
The hazy skies visible across the Bronx are linked to the devastating wildfires in California.
News 12 meteorologists say the haze is wildfire smoke that's traveled across the country.
They say the smoke has drifted 3,000 miles east from California to the Bronx.
The haziness not only reduces visibility in the sky, but it also reduces air quality for sensitive groups of people like the elderly or young children.
Earth Cam video showed a higher density of smoke over the city, creating a heavy feeling to the air.

Heavy rains are expected this week in California, which should help quench the wildfires in the northern part of the state
