Experts explain ways to stay private while using smartphone apps
Some apps are tracking user’s locations and sharing it with businesses, according to the New York Times.
Cybersecurity expert Scott Schober says if you haven’t used an app on your smartphone in the past three months, it’s probably best to delete them.
“Be careful what you’re downloading,” Schober says. “Clean house regularly, take a few minutes to read some of the terms and conditions to see what you’re opting in to and giving away in trade for this free app and it’ll help you be a more savvy consumer.”
He also says users should go into their privacy settings to see when their location is being used and adjust accordingly.
