A vandal slashed the tires on around 25 vehicles at the Fairfield apartment complex in Coram, police say.

There was no word on whether the perpetrator came from inside or outside the Country Club Drive complex, but residents say they want to see tighter security.

News 12 reached out to Fairfield about the security concerns and was told: "The police are doing an investigation and that's where we'll leave it at."

In the meantime, residents are stuck footing the bill to get their cars fixed.

The slashings kept a technician from AAA busy all morning. He said he had never seen anything like it before.
