LIRR service back to normal after signal trouble

Service is back to normal on the Long Island Rail Road after "signal trouble" caused cancellations and delays all day Tuesday.
At least 19 trains were canceled just before the evening rush.
Signal problems at the West Side Yard affected multiple branches.
The railroad says the problem was fixed around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning, there was also "switch trouble" that caused delays during the morning commute.
The latest equipment problems come on the heels of the LIRR's worst on-time performance in 19 years.
