Police say a man broke into a Coney Island home on Christmas morning, sending an elderly woman to the hospital.
The 88-year-old woman says she is still trying to grapple with what happened as she recovers, and as police continue to search for the man who broke into her home while she was inside.
Police say that around 7 a.m. on Christmas Day, the suspect entered Lyubov Faynshteyn’s home on West 25th Street and Surf Avenue in the Haber Houses.

The man wanted was caught on camera entering the building and heading into the elevator.
Faynshteyn says she was waiting for a visit from her health aide and opened the door, expecting it to be the aide.
Once inside, the suspect dragged and hit Faynshteyn. Officials say Faynshteyn was able to reach for her medical panic device, which scared the attacker off.
Faynshteyn's niece says her aunt suffered a broken cheekbone.
News 12 is told the door to the building has been unlocked for a while now as residents wait for NYCHA to fix it.

The agency responded to News 12’s request for a comment by saying they wish the victim a speedy recovery and that they’re doing what they can in helping police to find the suspect.
It is not known if the suspect took anything from the apartment.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
