Police say a fight along Summer Street in Stamford led them to file identity theft charges and other counts against two men.
Officers responded on Thursday to a report of two people fighting. They say say Darren Crenshaw and Deshawn Johnson, both of Atlanta, Georgia, were arrested after officers found them in possession of fake IDs, checks and bank account information.
Police say the majority of the checks were likely stolen from postal mailboxes or corporate buildings, but they note that none of the victims are local residents.
Crenshaw and Johnson are facing multiple charges, including disorderly conduct, identity theft, forgery, larceny, criminal impersonation, credit card theft and conspiracy.
