A company says it’s found a solution to rising rents that artists struggle with when it comes to finding studio space.

BX Spaces was created by co-founders Rafael Alvarez and Vincent Benedetto, who say they saw the need and opportunity as makers, builders and artists desired affordable spaces.

Being a member of BX Spaces costs anywhere from $150 to a little more than $800.

Denim tailor Todd Martin says that in his previous space, he had no privacy and low ceilings and that BX Spaces was perfect because it offers rooms for multiple sewing machines and high ceilings to hang denim jeans and jackets.

The partners also plan to expand this model around the city.
