A 95-year-old Bergan Beach woman says water flooding outside her home is keeping her trapped inside.
"I can't get out as you see it’s murder, it’s really murder," Selma Robbins says.
Robbins is just one of many residents in the neighborhood who say every time it rains, water floods the street and sidewalks outside of their homes.
Selma's son Steve Robbins says he's concerned for his mother's safety, and that the city isn't doing anything to fix the problem.
Frustration is growing as the city's Department of Environmental Protection works to find a resolution.
DEP officials tell News 12 they are aware of the flooding, and there are plans to fix the street.
Officials say improvements range from new storm sewers to better drainage systems, but those living in the neighborhood say they can't wait any longer.
