Glen Cove seniors fight to save their parking spots

A group of Long Island seniors is fighting to save the parking lot near their senior center.
The 17-spot lot on Glen Street is currently reserved for seniors attending the Glen Cove Senior Center right across the street. The city has leased the lot for years from Car Care, an auto repair shop that owns the property. But the owners want to sell the property, causing seniors to worry about losing their parking.
The city and the property owner are now involved in a lawsuit over the current lease agreement.
Seniors say there is limited street parking and another lot down the block, but they say their current lot is by far the most convenient.
News 12 tried to speak with the owner of the auto body shop, but someone inside said he wasn't there. The city said it cannot comment on litigation. The senior center's director would also not comment.
