Police: Traffic stop leads to arrest of man found with 99 bags of heroin

A man from New York has been charged after police found 99 bags of heroin in his car following a traffic stop on Route 23.

A man from New York has been charged after police found 99 bags of heroin in his car following a traffic stop on Route 23.

Police pulled over Michael Cooper, 38, Monday around 6:40 p.m. near Pequannock.
According to police, they observed a syringe in Cooper’s pocket.
A search of the car revealed 16 syringes in total, as well as 99 bags of heroin.
Cooper was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges.
He was arrested and later released.
