A new program is making house calls throughout the borough to help find out what is triggering asthma.
The Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition says it understands that asthma obstructs the daily routine of many residents in the borough. So, dozens of health facilities, government agencies, clergy members and local leaders came together to form the Healthy Buildings Program in the hope of making things easier for residents.
The group meets with landlords to assess homes for possible triggers that bring out the worst in asthma patients.

The initiative is now expanding and tackling new buildings in the borough. The Bailey Houses is the first NYCHA complex it has teamed up with, but it hopes to continue the work throughout the Bronx.
