NYPD officer adopts dog found abandoned in park

An NYPD officer who rescued an abandoned dog from the freezing cold has now taken him in as part of his family.
NYPD Officer Michael Pascale found the 11-month-old Labrador mix left chained to a fence in a park in Brownsville while on parole.
"He was shaking, he was crying, he was motionless. The way he was tied up to the fence, I knew he was in a bad place and I had to get them out of there," says Pascale.
Pascale brought the dog he named Joey to animal control shortly after their first encounter.
The two were permanently reunited at the ASPCA Adoption Center in Manhattan Tuesday.
"I felt a connection, I felt responsibility to make sure that he was going to have a good home, especially after what he experienced that day," says Pascale.
Pascale says he already has an entire room setup for Joey filled with toys, treats and more.
