Families in need are getting a helping hand from a Bushwick church that runs a weekly donation drive.
Pastor Maya Jones and her flock at Church of God Last Days Ministries gather every Saturday, rain or shine, to hand out nearly 2,000 pounds of food and clothing.
The line wraps around the block as families in need pick up everything from fresh produce to crackers, beans, coats and more. Among the items are all the pantry essentials that are out of reach for some Brooklyn residents, and they're all donated by the community and local nonprofit Soulwinners Christian Center.
Pastor Jones started the donation drive to make a difference in the community.
Jones says the gratitude is rewarding, as is knowing that she makes a difference in the Bushwick community.
