Morris Heights in the Bronx is one of the borough’s most diverse neighborhoods.

News 12’s Kurt Semder took an inside look at what makes the area so unique.

"We have a lot of mom and pop shops, very individualized,” says Dr. Bola Omotosho, chairperson of Community Board 5. “You feel like you're part of the community when you go into the different businesses."

Community advocates say there's room for improvement - most notably, the creation of a Morris Heights Business Improvement District.
