MARINE PARK -

The New York City Parks Department kicked off their educational nature program Sunday at parks throughout the city.

The program, called Kids Week, is free for children in the city.

The Salt Marsh Nature Center had parents and children hike their way through the park using just a compass and a map while hunting for treasure.

Kids Week will continue through Friday with indoor and outdoor events led by Urban Park Rangers.
