A dance academy in the Bronx is encouraging children to get active through dance.

At the Arthur Aviles Typical Theatre, a Bronx-based contemporary modern dance company, children ages 6 to 9 are doing yoga, gymnastics, dance and ballet. Drawing and painting are also part of the gender-neutral program.

Aviles was raised in the Bronx and created the community-based program.
