MTA board approves fare hikes, base fare to remain at $2.75
The MTA board has approved fare hikes.
After two hours of the MTA board committee listening to speakers from the community, members of the board approved the fare.
The base fare for subway or bus rides will remain at $2.75, while eliminating the bonus that riders receive when buying a pay-per-ride MetroCard.
