Dozens of children embrace snow day at Prospect Park

PROSPECT PARK -

Parents and children headed to Prospect Park Monday after New York City public schools closed for the first time this winter due to snow.

The Department of Education tells News 12 this snow day was the seventh since Mayor Bill de Blasio took office in 2014, and that there were two snow days last winter.

Residents say the snow was fun for a day, but they are ready for spring.
