‘Pooped out’: Hoboken residents are tired of pet owners not cleaning up
Residents in one Hudson County town say that they are sick and tired of their neighbors not cleaning up after their dogs.
Fed up Hoboken residents have taken to social media to complain about their neighbors not cleaning up after their dogs…do their business.
Some folks have even posted security camera videos of dog owners letting their furry friends relieve themselves and then not picking up after them.
“You know, you’ve got a dog. Do what you have to do. I don’t understand, it’s selfish,” said one Hoboken resident.
Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla recently joined the fight by increasing fines for leaving dog feces to up to $2,000 per offense.
But for the most part, residents were cleaning up after their dogs.
News 12 caught up with Hoboken resident Keily Furlot – who despite carrying her 6-month-old daughter - was still able to clean up after her dog.
“It’s a social responsibility. It’s what you do,” she said.
The fines Mayor Bhalla put into place range from $250 to $2,000.
