Jewish families celebrate Purim in Fairfield
Southwestern Connecticut Jewish families gathered to celebrate an ancient holiday with a message that is still relevant today.
The Chabad of Fairfield hosted a celebration of Purim Thursday night.
The theme was "under construction," where children and adults wore construction gear and enjoy tradition foods.
Rabbi Shlame Landa says it is important to stand strong together, especially in today's climate.
"That's something which is very important for all of us to know," Landa says. "Anti-Semitism is not something which is new, although it's certainly very much out there today as well."
The Purim holiday is celebrated with the Megillah reading as well as gifts of food and charity.
