Man gets life in prison in Queens jogger murder case
The Brooklyn man convicted of murdering Queens jogger Karina Vetrano has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Vetrano was killed in 2016 while jogging near her home in Howard Beach, Queens.
Chanel Lewis’ sentencing was postponed after his attorney asked the judge to toss out his client’s conviction amid allegations of juror misconduct.
The request was denied.
Lewis’ first trial ended in a mistrial.
