A suspected drunken driver allegedly hit an officer Sunday morning in Norwalk while trying to flee a traffic stop.

The incident happened shortly after midnight on Main Street when the officer apparently saw the driver, Terrance Parker, run a red light.

The officer says Parker's license was suspended and he smelled of alcohol.

Police say Parker became "belligerent" when the officer told him the car would be towed.

Parker allegedly hit the gas and hit the officer, knocking him down.

He was caught in Bridgeport, and is facing charges.
