Brooklyn man charged with scamming Westchester resident out of $28K
yesterdayPolice say there has been an uptick in hate crimes across the city, including in Brooklyn where there have been two reported cases in just two days.
The first attack was reported Saturday on Broadway and Lynch Street, and the second was on Rodney Street and Marcy Avenue, just blocks away.
The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating both as possible hate crimes.
The first attack happened around 1:15 a.m. when a group of men started making anti-Semitic comments to a 42-year-old man dressed in religious attire.
The men attacked him, leaving him with bruising and swelling across his face.
The more recent attack happened Tuesday around 7 p.m. when police say someone went up to a 39-year-old man and punched him in the head.
Police are searching for the suspects involved.
The Anti-Defamation League is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of those responsible
